AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3235

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3235 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Real Estate Appraiser Licensing Act of 
52002 is amended by adding Section 10-25 as follows:
 
6    (225 ILCS 458/10-25 new)
7    Sec. 10-25. Data collection in real estate appraisals. 
8    (a) In this Section, "data collection" means inspecting 
9and collecting data and pictures of a specific tract of real 
10estate for an appraisal management company or mortgage lender, 
11with the intent that the data and information will be provided 
12to an appraiser as the sole basis for preparing an appraisal to 
13support a mortgage on the real estate.
14    (b) A person must be licensed as an appraiser under this 
15Act to be hired by an appraisal management company, mortgage 
16lender, or any third party for the sole purpose of data

1collection. 
2    (c) Nothing in this Section prohibits an individual 
3licensed as a home inspector under the Home Inspector License 
4Act or an individual licensed as a broker or managing broker 
5under the Real Estate License Act of 2000 from engaging in 
6activities within the scope of the individual's license. 
 
7    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
8becoming law.".
