HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to commend the Illinois Alliance of Boys &
4 Girls Clubs for its dedicated service to the youth of
5Illinois; and
 
6    WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that the State of Illinois
7recognizes organizations whose work strengthens our
8communities, empowers young people, and invests in the leaders
9of tomorrow; and
 
10    WHEREAS, The Illinois Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs
11serves as the statewide network and advocacy voice for Boys &
12Girls Clubs operating throughout Illinois, supporting local
13member organizations in delivering high-quality, affordable
14programming to young people in urban, suburban, and rural
15communities; and
 
16    WHEREAS, The Illinois Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs
17serves approximately 75,000 youth in 51 communities statewide
18through its member organizations, providing safe and
19supportive environments during critical out-of-school hours
20that help keep children safe while offering academic support,
21literacy programming, and mentorship that strengthens early
22learning and educational outcomes; and

1    WHEREAS, The Illinois Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs and
2its member organizations have served more than 1,691,325 meals
3and snacks to young people, and with the State's past
4investment, these clubs previously provided almost 10,000
5additional youth a place to belong in 2024; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The impact of the Illinois Alliance of Boys &
7Girls Clubs' member organizations on academic performance and
8personal and professional achievement is profound, with 95% of
9club youth in Illinois expecting to graduate high school and
1091% planning to go to college; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Investing in the Illinois Alliance of Boys &
12Girls Clubs represents a strong partnership between the State
13of Illinois, local communities, families, and the private
14sector, as expanding access to out-of-school time programming
15supports working families, strengthens communities, and helps
16ensure that every young person has access to the opportunities
17they need to learn, grow, and succeed; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Continued investment and support for the Illinois
19Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs is essential to the health,
20safety, academic success, and future prosperity of our State's
21young people and the communities they call home; and

1    WHEREAS, On March 24, 2026, the Illinois Alliance of Boys &
2 Girls Clubs and its member organizations plan to visit
3Springfield to advocate for Illinois' young people and to
4demonstrate the statewide commitment to youth development that
5the clubs embody; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
7HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8we commend the Illinois Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs and its
9member organizations, staff, and volunteers for their
10dedication to providing safe, accessible, and enriching
11programming that helps youth in communities across Illinois
12achieve their full potential; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the Illinois Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs as a
15symbol of our esteem and respect.
