| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to commend the Illinois Alliance of Boys & |
| 4 | | Girls Clubs for its dedicated service to the youth of |
| 5 | | Illinois; and |
| 6 | | WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that the State of Illinois |
| 7 | | recognizes organizations whose work strengthens our |
| 8 | | communities, empowers young people, and invests in the leaders |
| 9 | | of tomorrow; and |
| 10 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs |
| 11 | | serves as the statewide network and advocacy voice for Boys & |
| 12 | | Girls Clubs operating throughout Illinois, supporting local |
| 13 | | member organizations in delivering high-quality, affordable |
| 14 | | programming to young people in urban, suburban, and rural |
| 15 | | communities; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs |
| 17 | | serves approximately 75,000 youth in 51 communities statewide |
| 18 | | through its member organizations, providing safe and |
| 19 | | supportive environments during critical out-of-school hours |
| 20 | | that help keep children safe while offering academic support, |
| 21 | | literacy programming, and mentorship that strengthens early |
| 22 | | learning and educational outcomes; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs and |
| 2 | | its member organizations have served more than 1,691,325 meals |
| 3 | | and snacks to young people, and with the State's past |
| 4 | | investment, these clubs previously provided almost 10,000 |
| 5 | | additional youth a place to belong in 2024; and |
| 6 | | WHEREAS, The impact of the Illinois Alliance of Boys & |
| 7 | | Girls Clubs' member organizations on academic performance and |
| 8 | | personal and professional achievement is profound, with 95% of |
| 9 | | club youth in Illinois expecting to graduate high school and |
| 10 | | 91% planning to go to college; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Investing in the Illinois Alliance of Boys & |
| 12 | | Girls Clubs represents a strong partnership between the State |
| 13 | | of Illinois, local communities, families, and the private |
| 14 | | sector, as expanding access to out-of-school time programming |
| 15 | | supports working families, strengthens communities, and helps |
| 16 | | ensure that every young person has access to the opportunities |
| 17 | | they need to learn, grow, and succeed; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Continued investment and support for the Illinois |
| 19 | | Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs is essential to the health, |
| 20 | | safety, academic success, and future prosperity of our State's |
| 21 | | young people and the communities they call home; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, On March 24, 2026, the Illinois Alliance of Boys & |
| 2 | | Girls Clubs and its member organizations plan to visit |
| 3 | | Springfield to advocate for Illinois' young people and to |
| 4 | | demonstrate the statewide commitment to youth development that |
| 5 | | the clubs embody; therefore, be it |
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 7 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 8 | | we commend the Illinois Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs and its |
| 9 | | member organizations, staff, and volunteers for their |
| 10 | | dedication to providing safe, accessible, and enriching |
| 11 | | programming that helps youth in communities across Illinois |
| 12 | | achieve their full potential; and be it further |
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 14 | | presented to the Illinois Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs as a |
| 15 | | symbol of our esteem and respect. |
