HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate American Legion Auxiliary 
4Unit 392 on the occasion of its centennial anniversary; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The American Legion was charted by the United 
6States Congress as a patriotic veterans organization in 1919, 
7and it has flourished into a group of over one million members, 
8including 12,000 posts worldwide; and
 
9    WHEREAS, On September, 11, 1925, American Legion Auxiliary 
10Unit 392 was formed in Peotone to support the aims and goals of 
11the organization; and
 
12    WHEREAS, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 392 continues to 
13bolster service members, its community, and the country 
14through unwavering volunteerism, with members donating 3,259 
15hours in 2024 alone; and
 
16    WHEREAS, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 392 holds a Poppy 
17Drive every Saturday prior to Memorial Day, honoring those who 
18gave the ultimate sacrifice, in addition to collecting 
19donations for veterans, active-duty members, and their 
20families; and

1    WHEREAS, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 392 members also 
2oversee the successful operation of holiday charitable events, 
3including an annual Christmas party and Easter box 
4distributions; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The men and women of the American Legion 
6Auxiliary Unit 392 play an integral role in helping not only 
7those who served but also those across the community, State, 
8and country; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
10HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
11we congratulate American Legion Auxiliary Unit 392 on 
12achieving its 100th anniversary; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to American Legion Auxiliary Unit 392 as an 
15expression of our esteem and respect.
