| 2 | | WHEREAS, Architecture shapes the character and identity of |
| 3 | | public spaces, uplifting communities, reflecting shared |
| 4 | | values, and inspiring pride in government institutions; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Public buildings funded by the State of Illinois |
| 6 | | should be clearly recognizable as civic structures, designed |
| 7 | | to honor Illinois' rich history, culture, and architectural |
| 8 | | heritage; and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Traditional, classical, and other historically |
| 10 | | rooted architectural styles have long enhanced public spaces, |
| 11 | | strengthened community identity, and upheld the ideals of |
| 12 | | democracy; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, The public has a vested interest in civic |
| 14 | | architecture, and incorporating community input ensures that |
| 15 | | designs reflect the aspirations of Illinois residents; |
| 16 | | therefore, be it |
| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 18 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 19 | | we urge the Administrator of the Capital Development Board, in |
| 20 | | consultation with the Office of the Governor and other |
| 21 | | relevant state agencies, to develop recommendations promoting |
