| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Ellen K. Schwab of Reddick, who passed |
| 4 | | away on December 31, 2024; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ellen Schwab was born to William and Margaret |
| 6 | | (Komnick) Joyce in Kankakee on July 31, 1956; she married |
| 7 | | Charles C. Schwab III in March 1984; and |
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Ellen Schwab worked as a media aide and was |
| 9 | | responsible for running literary programs at Reddick |
| 10 | | Elementary School, Herscher Elementary School, and Bonfield |
| 11 | | Elementary School; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Ellen Schwab loved reading, spending time with |
| 13 | | her grandchildren, and hiking, and she was especially proud of |
| 14 | | completing a section of the Colorado Trail; she was a foodie |
| 15 | | who enjoyed cooking and sharing that passion with her sons, |
| 16 | | and she was an animal lover; she was an avid Chicago Cubs fan |
| 17 | | who attended 24 Cubs conventions and enjoyed taking her sons |
| 18 | | to opening day games when they were younger; and |
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Ellen Schwab was preceded in death by her parents |
| 20 | | and her son, Joseph W. "Chef Joey" Schwab; and |
