| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Cyril A. "Bud" Stobaugh Jr. of |
| 4 | | Farmington, who passed away on September 6, 2024; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bud Stobaugh, the son of Mary L. (Boldys) and |
| 6 | | Cyril A. Stobaugh Sr., was born in Farmington on October 23, |
| 7 | | 1931; he voluntarily enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on April 4, |
| 8 | | 1951, serving during the Korean War; he was honorably |
| 9 | | discharged on November 13, 1953, holding the designation of |
| 10 | | inactive reserve for eight years until the end of the war; he |
| 11 | | married Norma Jeanne Paine at St. Marks Church in Peoria on |
| 12 | | July 3, 1954; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Bud Stobaugh began working for the Caterpillar |
| 14 | | Tractor Company on February 6, 1950, retiring as a technical |
| 15 | | writer in the service information department in January 1991 |
| 16 | | after 41 years of service; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Bud Stobaugh was a member of the Farmington City |
| 18 | | Council and served as Police Commissioner for the City of |
| 19 | | Farmington for eight years; he was elected to a two-year term |
| 20 | | as Mayor of Farmington on April 1, 2003, serving two four-year |
| 21 | | terms; and |
