| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Marilyn A. McGuire, who passed away on |
| 4 | | July 4, 2024; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Marilyn McGuire was born in Joliet on September |
| 6 | | 17, 1928; she was raised in Lockport and Joliet; she graduated |
| 7 | | from Sacred Heart School and St. Francis Academy, and she |
| 8 | | attended the College of St. Francis; she married Paul E. |
| 9 | | McGuire on November 24, 1951, and they raised six children; |
| 10 | | and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Marilyn McGuire worked in the law office of |
| 12 | | Joseph Kirincich for 14 years before becoming associate |
| 13 | | director of development at Joliet Catholic High School; and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Marilyn McGuire was an active member of the |
| 15 | | Joliet Fire Department Women's Auxiliary, the St. Paul the |
| 16 | | Apostle School Board, the St. Francis Academy and Joliet |
| 17 | | Catholic High School parent organizations, and the Notre Dame |
| 18 | | Club of Joliet; and |
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Marilyn McGuire enjoyed cheering on the Joliet |
| 20 | | Catholic Academy and the University of Notre Dame, cooking and |
| 21 | | baking for her family, voting, and playing Scrabble; and |
