| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Richard E. "Dick" Lynch of Canton, who |
| 4 | | passed away on July 11, 2024; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dick Lynch was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to |
| 6 | | Thomas E. and Doris (Fraikes) Lyncon on September 25, 1937; he |
| 7 | | graduated from Canton High School in 1955 and attended Bowling |
| 8 | | Green State University on a baseball scholarship; he served in |
| 9 | | the United States Marines from November 28, 1956 to August 4, |
| 10 | | 1959; he married Scheralyn Duffield at First Baptist Church in |
| 11 | | Canton on April 21, 1962; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Dick Lynch was employed by Household Finance in |
| 13 | | Waukegan and later by the Caterpillar Tractor Company for 33 |
| 14 | | years; and |
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Dick Lynch worked with the Junior Achievement |
| 16 | | program; he was a member of Morning Star Lodge 734 for 30 |
| 17 | | years, Scottish Rite Valley of Peoria, and the Mohammed Temple |
| 18 | | Shrine in Peoria; he enjoyed fishing and watching sports; he |
| 19 | | had a fantastic memory for details and history; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Dick Lynch was preceded in death by his wife, |
| 21 | | Scheralyn; his parents; and his sister, Susan B. Lynch; and |
