| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Patrick L. "Pat" Ward of Peoria, who |
| 4 | | passed away on March 10, 2024; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Pat Ward was born to William R. and Theresa |
| 6 | | (Murray) Ward in Peoria on March 23, 1950; he married Kathleen |
| 7 | | Berchtold in Peoria on February 12, 2005; and |
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Pat Ward worked and retired as chairman of South |
| 9 | | Side Bank in Peoria; he later owned and operated National |
| 10 | | Marine Sales in Peoria Heights; he was the retired chairman of |
| 11 | | Mid Illinois Bank Corp and a former teacher at Illinois |
| 12 | | Central College; he was also previously an owner of the Peoria |
| 13 | | Pirates football team and a founder of the Junior Football |
| 14 | | League (JFL) in Peoria; and |
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Pat Ward was a past board member and president of |
| 16 | | the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate Clinic, a past board member of |
| 17 | | Easterseals and Eureka College, a past board member and |
| 18 | | chairman of the Peoria Gridiron Dinner, a board member and |
| 19 | | state chair of the American Institute of Bankers, a lifetime |
| 20 | | member of the St. Patrick's Society in Peoria, and a board |
| 21 | | member of the South Side Office of Concern, the South Side |
| 22 | | Businessmen's Club, the Peoria Chamber of Commerce, the Peoria |
