| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to | ||||||
| 3 | congratulate the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce on | ||||||
| 4 | the occasion of being awarded 5-star accreditation by the U.S. | ||||||
| 5 | Chamber of Commerce; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Accreditation | ||||||
| 7 | Program serves to facilitate continuing excellence in the | ||||||
| 8 | chamber industry and to foster a pro-business environment | ||||||
| 9 | across the United States; in order to receive accreditation, a | ||||||
| 10 | chamber must meet minimum standards in its operations and | ||||||
| 11 | programs, including areas of governance, government affairs, | ||||||
| 12 | communications, and technology; the program's Accrediting | ||||||
| 13 | Board rates local chambers as accredited, 3-stars, 4-stars, or | ||||||
| 14 | 5-stars, with 5-star accreditation remaining in effect for | ||||||
| 15 | five years; and | ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce was | ||||||
| 17 | bestowed a designation of 5-star accreditation for its sound | ||||||
| 18 | policies, effective organizational procedures, and positive | ||||||
| 19 | impact on the community, marking the third time it has | ||||||
| 20 | achieved an accredited status of 5-stars and making it among | ||||||
| 21 | the top 2% of chambers in the United States; and | ||||||
| 22 | WHEREAS, The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce was | ||||||

| 1 | noted by the Accrediting Board for serving as a vocal advocate | ||||||
| 2 | for the region's business community, fostering an excellent | ||||||
| 3 | working relationship with elected officials, engaging with | ||||||
| 4 | many regional and state working groups and associations, and | ||||||
| 5 | recognizing the work of its volunteers; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce was | ||||||
| 7 | further recognized for its leadership role in the All In for | ||||||
| 8 | Economic Recovery group, its Advocacy Advisory Council, its | ||||||
| 9 | Mayoral Forum, its Disaster Recovery Plan and utilization of | ||||||
| 10 | the Ready Action Plan to address service continuity, its | ||||||
| 11 | partnership with BIGG Success, and its resource library; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce | ||||||
| 13 | remains steadfast in achieving its mission to enhance its | ||||||
| 14 | members' success and advocate on their behalf; therefore, be | ||||||
| 15 | it | ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
| 17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the | ||||||
| 18 | Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce on being awarded | ||||||
| 19 | 5-star accreditation by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and we | ||||||
| 20 | commend the chamber for its continued service and dedication | ||||||
| 21 | to its members; and be it further | ||||||
| 22 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
