| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Norman E. Wollbrink of Sutter, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on January 29, 2023; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Norman Wollbrink was born to Elmer and Jennie | ||||||
| 6 | (Buckert) Wollbrink in Sutter on May 17, 1931; he graduated | ||||||
| 7 | from Warsaw High School in 1949; he served in the U.S. Army | ||||||
| 8 | during the Korean Conflict from 1952 until he was honorably | ||||||
| 9 | discharged in 1954; he married
Joyce Mae Waechter at Trinity | ||||||
| 10 | United Church of Christ in Quincy on March 15, 1958; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Norman Wollbrink worked as a farmer in the Sutter | ||||||
| 12 | area for most of his life; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Norman Wollbrink actively served his church and | ||||||
| 14 | community in many ways; he belonged to the Bethlehem United | ||||||
| 15 | Church of Christ in Sutter, where he served as a member of the | ||||||
| 16 | board and a sexton of the church cemetery for many years; he | ||||||
| 17 | was a 50-year member of the Lima Masonic Lodge and served as a | ||||||
| 18 | Shriner clown of the Quincy Shrine Club; he was also a member | ||||||
| 19 | of the Great River Ski Club, the Warsaw School Board, the | ||||||
| 20 | Quincy Bicycle Club, the Quincy Consistory, the Hancock County | ||||||
| 21 | Soil and Water Conservation Board, the Korean War Veterans, | ||||||
| 22 | and the Warsaw American Legion; and
| ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | WHEREAS, In his free time, Norman Wollbrink enjoyed skiing | ||||||
| 2 | and cycling; one of his life's favorite moments was the | ||||||
| 3 | opportunity to participate in the Great River Honor Flight; | ||||||
| 4 | and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Norman Wollbrink was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 6 | parents and his brothers, Clarence and Herbert Wollbrink; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Norman Wollbrink is survived by his wife, Joyce; | ||||||
| 8 | his sons, Bruce (Cyndy) Wollbrink, Brad (Brenda) Wollbrink, | ||||||
| 9 | Kevin (Mindy) Wollbrink, and Kirk Wollbrink; his | ||||||
| 10 | grandchildren, David (Melissa) Wollbrink, Hannah
(Luke) | ||||||
| 11 | Muegge, Josh (Taylor) Wollbrink, Brandon Wollbrink, and Jacob | ||||||
| 12 | Wollbrink; his step-grandson, Justin Hainline; his | ||||||
| 13 | great-grandchildren, Addison Wollbrink, Emma Wollbrink, and | ||||||
| 14 | Cooper Wollbrink; and his great-grandchild due in March, | ||||||
| 15 | Muegge; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
| 17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| ||||||
| 18 | Norman E. Wollbrink and extend our sincere
condolences to his | ||||||
| 19 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | ||||||
| 20 | further

| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
