HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Dana Rosenzweig on the occasion of his retirement from the St. Clair County Mental Health Board; and

WHEREAS, Dana Rosenzweig has served as the executive director of the St. Clair County Mental Health Board since 1999; he has been responsible for the overall management, development, planning, programming, and budgeting as related to the utilization of local government funds for the purchase and coordination of community mental health, developmental disability, and substance use disorder services for residents of St. Clair County; and

WHEREAS, Dana Rosenzweig has additionally served as a member of the Association of Community Mental Health Authorities of Illinois (ACMHAI), providing leadership in advancing behavioral health practice to St. Clair County since 1987; he served as a past president from 2002 to 2003 and chair of the Legislative Committee from 2013 to 2023; within ACMHAI, he was known as an ongoing contributor, a strong advocate, and a skilled spokesperson on behavioral health, substance use, and intellectual/developmental disabilities; and

WHEREAS, Dana Rosenzweig has held numerous professional appointments and affiliations, including being a governor appointee to the Illinois Council on Aging and an attorney general appointee to the Illinois Opioid Remediation Advisory Board; he additionally chaired the St. Clair County Disaster Mental Health Council, served as a founding member and treasurer of the St. Clair County Children's Advocacy Center, and belonged to the National Association of Social Workers, the St. Clair County Council on Aging, the St. Clair County Healthcare Commission, and the National Association of County Behavioral Health and Disability Directors; and

WHEREAS, During his career, Dana Rosenzweig has continually demonstrated leadership and a keen awareness of the legislative process; and

WHEREAS, Dana Rosenzweig has a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Social Work, and he is a licensed social worker (LCSW); therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Dana Rosenzweig on the occasion of his retirement from the St. Clair County Mental Health Board, and we commend him for his 24 years of dedicated service and for his leadership in advancing behavioral health practices in St. Clair County; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Dana Rosenzweig as an expression of our esteem and respect.
