SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Danny L. Miner of Moline, who passed away on May 17, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Danny Miner was born to Frank and Kathryn (Pickett) Miner in Tacoma, Washington on February 2, 1952; he was raised in Rainier, Washington until his family moved to Tooele, Utah when he was 10 years old; he graduated from Tooele High School in 1970; after attending the University of Utah for one year, he joined the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1971 to 1975; following his honorable discharge, he graduated from Weber State College in Ogden, Utah; he married Stefani Green in Davenport, Iowa on June 20, 1987, and they raised their daughter and son in Moline; and

WHEREAS, Danny Miner began his career working for the U.S. Government shortly after graduating from college; he worked at the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, later transferring to the Tooele Army Depot; he retired as an ammunition logistics manager from the Rock Island Arsenal after 34 years; and

WHEREAS, Danny Miner was an accomplished bowler, an avid record collector, and a devoted family man; he participated, either by coaching or cheering, in his children's every athletic endeavor; he could often be found walking his dog Izzy or cheering on the San Francisco 49ers or the Utah Utes football teams; and

WHEREAS, Danny Miner was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and coach; he was known for his swift ability to recall any sports trivia fact, music lyric, or the date a photo was taken; and

WHEREAS, Danny Miner was preceded in death by his father, Frank Miner, and his nephew, Rusty Tate; and

WHEREAS, Danny Miner is survived by his wife, Stefani; his daughter, Lindsey (Joe) Orf; his son, Garrett; his mother, Tina Miner; his sisters, Linda (Tom) Corwin and Alice Tate; and his numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Danny L. Miner and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Danny Miner as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
