SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Earl W. Schwabe of Moline, who passed away on April 29, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Earl Schwabe was born to Earl and Dolly (Galbraith) Schwabe in Thompsonville on October 5, 1935; he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; he married Karen J. in Moline on December 30, 1960; and

WHEREAS, Earl Schwabe was first employed as the superintendent of Goetz Construction for 30 years, retiring in 1992; later, he and his wife owned and operated Sunshine Luxury Tours and enjoyed taking people on great tours for 25 years; and

WHEREAS, Earl Schwabe committed to his faith as a young teenager and lived a life of integrity and service to others; he was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island, where he served as a Sunday School teacher for the boys' class, and was a deacon at the former Moline Gospel Temple for 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Earl Schwabe loved to golf and fish; above all, he loved his family; and

WHEREAS, Earl Schwabe was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gordon; and his sisters, Sadie Schwabe, Wanda Schwabe, and Jean Carter; and

WHEREAS, Earl Schwabe is survived by his wife, Karen; his children, Terry (Jackie) Schwabe, Steve Schwabe, and Susan (Kyle) Sebben; his four grandchildren, Emme Schwabe, Noah Sebben, Logan Sebben, and T.J. Schwabe; and his brother, Jack (Anna Fae) Schwabe; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Earl W. Schwabe and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Earl Schwabe as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
