| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Joseph B. Stokes, who passed away on |
| 4 | | March 9, 2022; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Stokes was born on April 22, 1986; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Stokes was the physical education teacher |
| 7 | | at Holy Family School in North Lawndale; he worked hard to |
| 8 | | cultivate an individual relationship with each student and to |
| 9 | | understand each unique personality; he encouraged his students |
| 10 | | to be their best selves in all situations; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Stokes was a football fanatic, according |
| 12 | | to his sister, Tina; he played football in high school and |
| 13 | | college, and he previously coached at Proviso East; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Stokes is survived by two children, a |
| 15 | | 13-year-old and a 15-year-old; he spent a great deal of time |
| 16 | | with his boys, and both are involved in sports; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Joseph Stokes was sweet, caring, and kind and |
| 18 | | enjoyed helping others; he will especially be remembered for |
| 19 | | his positive attitude and the joyous energy he shared; |
