| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of James R. "Jim" Grafton, who passed |
| 4 | | away on March 31, 2022; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jim Grafton was born to Jimmi Ryan and Barbara |
| 6 | | Ann (Circle) Grafton in Moline on April 25, 1951; he graduated |
| 7 | | from Moline High School in 1969; he attended the University of |
| 8 | | Iowa; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps; he married Mary in |
| 9 | | East Moline; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Jim Grafton was the owner and president of |
| 11 | | Blackhawk Foundry and Machine in Davenport, Iowa; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Jim Grafton served as the county chairman during |
| 13 | | the reelection campaign for Governor Jim Thompson; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Jim Grafton was an avid University of Iowa |
| 15 | | Hawkeyes fan and loved sports; he enjoyed spending time at his |
| 16 | | cabin in Wisconsin and spending summers fishing with his |
| 17 | | father, son, and nephews in Canada; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Jim Grafton was preceded in death by his parents |
| 19 | | and his brother, Joshua Circle Lee Grafton; and
|
