| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of The Rev. Dr. Laurence Larson of |
| 4 | | Moline, who passed away on September 30, 2021; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Laurence Larson was born to Roy and Agnes Burke |
| 6 | | Larson in East Chicago, Indiana on March 3, 1936; he attended |
| 7 | | public schools in Sterling and served in the U.S. Marine Corps |
| 8 | | from 1954 to 1957; he graduated from Illinois College in |
| 9 | | Jacksonville in 1960 and received a Master of Divinity from |
| 10 | | Nashotah House Seminary in Nashotah, Wisconsin in 1963; he |
| 11 | | received a Doctorate of Ministry from the Graduate Theological |
| 12 | | Foundation in Notre Dame, Indiana in 1988; he married Betty |
| 13 | | Lou Izard in Warsaw on December 30, 1961; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Laurence Larson was ordained in the Episcopal |
| 15 | | Church in 1963; he served eight years of college chaplaincy, |
| 16 | | as rector of Trinity Parish in Lincoln from 1971 to 1977, and |
| 17 | | as Rector of Trinity Parish in Rock Island from 1977 to 2001; |
| 18 | | he helped establish the All Saints Mission in Moline in |
| 19 | | February of 2009 and served that congregation through 2013; |
| 20 | | and

| 21 | | WHEREAS, Laurence Larson was preceded in death by his |
| 22 | | parents; his brothers, Roger and Don; and his sister, Lois |
