SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of William "Todd" Werner of South Roxana, 
4who passed away on July 1, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Todd Werner was born in Carlinville to Josie 
6(Fischer) and William "Bill" Sparks on September 9, 1972; he 
7married Sonja Krotz in Bethalto on August 26, 2006; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Todd Werner had a 30-year career in fire service; 
9he served with  the South Roxana Fire Department since 1996, 
10becoming chief in 2013; he has been employed by the Madison 
11County Sheriff's Office for the last three years; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Todd Werner was a member of the South Roxana 
13Dad's Club and  the Madison County Emergency Management 
14Association; he was a  trustee for the Village of South Roxana; 
15and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Todd Werner was preceded in death by his father, 
17William Sparks; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Todd Werner is survived by is wife, Sonja; his 
19mother, Josie; his sons, Christopher, Devin, and Austin Moore; 
20his sister, Carla Lattimore; and many nieces, nephews, and

1other extended family and friends; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4William "Todd" Werner and extend our sincere condolences to 
5his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to  the family of  Todd Werner as an expression of our 
9deepest sympathy.
