SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gary L. Foster of Milan, who passed away on March 14, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Gary Foster was born to Francis and Ruth (Harper) Foster in Moline on August 4, 1949; he was a proud veteran who served in the 3/187th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division known as the Rakkasans; he married Mary Hynes at Fort Bragg, North Carolina on March 7, 1970; and

WHEREAS, Gary Foster retired from the Rock Island Arsenal, where he worked as an engineer; and

WHEREAS, Gary Foster enjoyed woodworking, golfing, playing pool, and spending time with his friends at Mr. Ed's; and

WHEREAS, Gary Foster was preceded in death by his wife, Mary K. Foster; his parents; and his siblings, Beverly (Robert) Bethel, Kenneth Foster, Marilyn Petersen, John (Linda) Foster, and Kay Jennings; and

WHEREAS, Gary Foster is survived by his children, Tim (Margret) Foster and Stacy Jewell; his grandchildren, Christina Attaway, Damien Foster, Korbi Foster, Mya Johnson, and Macy, Morgan, Kelsea, and Cooper Foster; his great-grandchildren, Thea and Riley Attaway, Liliana, Jase, and Lorelai Foster, Kingston Boone, and Levi Bahrs; his siblings, Bob (JoAnn) Foster, Arlene (John) Greathouse, Denny (Judy) Foster, Butch (Penny) Foster, Mike (Kathy) Foster, Steve (Sandy) Foster, and Kathy (Woody) Marshall; his sister-in-law, Georgia Ernst; and his brother-in-laws, Pat Hynes, Sam Petersen, and Ernie Jennings; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gary L. Foster and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gary Foster as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
