SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the of Keith D. Dow of Moline, who passed away on 
4February 22, 2021; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Keith Dow was born to Lee and Esther (Renner) Dow 
6in Moline on June 22, 1923; he served in the U.S. Navy during 
7World War II where he was part of the Battle of Layte Gulf 
8while stationed on the USS California;   he married Mae Clark, 
9and they had two daughters together; he later married Shirley 
10(Schultz) Williams in Moline on August 1, 1964; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Keith Dow  retired as a machinist from the Rock 
12Island Arsenal in 1980; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Keith Dow enjoyed spending time on the river; he 
14loved to read and had written several short stories; he hand 
15carved many nautical models throughout his lifetime; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Keith Dow was preceded in death by his parents 
17and his brothers, Neil and Ted; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Keith Dow is survived by his wife, Shirley; his 
19children, Christie (Ralph) Dixon,  Toni (Charlie) Pogue, Linda 
20(Mark) Roos, Nancy (Randy) Horton, and Mike (Julie) Williams;

1and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; therefore, 
2be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Keith D. Dow and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
6friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Keith Dow as an expression of our 
9deepest sympathy.
