HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to commend the Knotty Luxe Arts 
4Foundation for its distinguished record of public service 
5through the arts for youth and the community-at-large in the 
6Southland of Chicago; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Knotty Luxe Arts Foundation is a 501(c)(3) 
8nonprofit charitable organization, which serves children by 
9providing free performing arts education in Chicago's 
10Southland year-round; the foundation trains youths aged 12 to 
1118 in the areas of drama, dance, and music through its 
12Edutainment platform, permitting its members the opportunity 
13to develop their critical thinking  and performance skills in a 
14collaborative environment; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The Knotty Luxe Arts Foundation was founded in 
162020 by Pamela "Pam" Mack, a Screen Actors Guild member since 
171996; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Pamela Mack became interested in acting as a 
19pre-teen when her uncle and aunt, Will and Ellestine, took her 
20to the musicals Dreamgirls and Evita in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 
21as a result, she pursued and earned her bachelor's degree in 
22Communications, with an emphasis in Theatre, from Iowa State

1University; from there, she  appeared in national commercials, 
2episodic TV shows, and theatrical productions from Los Angeles 
3to New York City, while completing voice-overs for 
4international brands; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, The Knotty Luxe Arts Foundation will host its 2nd 
6Annual Refresh Fest for the Southland community as a 
7celebration of community resiliency by bringing families, 
8friends, neighbors, law enforcement agencies, and community 
9stakeholders-at-large together in Markham on August 20, 2022; 
10therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
12HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
13we commend the Knotty Luxe Arts Foundation on its continued 
14dedication to serving the youth and community of Southland, 
15and we congratulate the nonprofit on hosting its 2nd Annual 
16Refresh Fest; and be it further
  
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
18presented to Pamela Mack as an expression of our esteem and 
19respect.
