| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to commend the Knotty Luxe Arts |
| 4 | | Foundation for its distinguished record of public service |
| 5 | | through the arts for youth and the community-at-large in the |
| 6 | | Southland of Chicago; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, The Knotty Luxe Arts Foundation is a 501(c)(3) |
| 8 | | nonprofit charitable organization, which serves children by |
| 9 | | providing free performing arts education in Chicago's |
| 10 | | Southland year-round; the foundation trains youths aged 12 to |
| 11 | | 18 in the areas of drama, dance, and music through its |
| 12 | | Edutainment platform, permitting its members the opportunity |
| 13 | | to develop their critical thinking and performance skills in a |
| 14 | | collaborative environment; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, The Knotty Luxe Arts Foundation was founded in |
| 16 | | 2020 by Pamela "Pam" Mack, a Screen Actors Guild member since |
| 17 | | 1996; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Pamela Mack became interested in acting as a |
| 19 | | pre-teen when her uncle and aunt, Will and Ellestine, took her |
| 20 | | to the musicals Dreamgirls and Evita in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; |
| 21 | | as a result, she pursued and earned her bachelor's degree in |
| 22 | | Communications, with an emphasis in Theatre, from Iowa State |
