| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Larry Milby on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of his retirement from Illinois State University | ||||||
| 5 | (ISU); and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Larry Milby joined ISU as a grounds worker in | ||||||
| 7 | 1991; during his tenure, he has held the position of grounds | ||||||
| 8 | foreman and currently serves as assistant superintendent of | ||||||
| 9 | grounds; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Larry Milby has been instrumental in the | ||||||
| 11 | maintenance and long term growth of Fell Arboretum, which | ||||||
| 12 | today stretches across over 400 acres of the campus and | ||||||
| 13 | contains approximately 2,000 trees, with most of them native | ||||||
| 14 | to the State of Illinois; during his career, ISU was | ||||||
| 15 | recognized as a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation in | ||||||
| 16 | 2008 and continues to hold that recognition today; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Larry Milby has served his community of Downs as | ||||||
| 18 | assistant fire chief for 25 years and the entire McLean County | ||||||
| 19 | as assistant coroner since 1990, aiding in the most serious | ||||||
| 20 | events in family life, assisting in communication of precious | ||||||
| 21 | life and death moments, and cleaning accident sites with | ||||||
| 22 | dignity and respect; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, Larry Milby has worked tirelessly with the Town | ||||||
| 2 | of Normal as they collaboratively coordinated community events | ||||||
| 3 | and maintained streets, sidewalks, and parking lots throughout | ||||||
| 4 | campus; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Larry Milby has devoted his life to his faith and | ||||||
| 6 | serves on several committees at Eastview Christian Church; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Larry Milby has the distinction of knowing every | ||||||
| 8 | square inch of the ISU grounds and is well regarded for his | ||||||
| 9 | vast institutional knowledge, informed decision making, | ||||||
| 10 | commitment to promoting a positive workplace environment, and | ||||||
| 11 | his down to Earth demeanor; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Larry Milby will celebrate his retirement at a | ||||||
| 13 | reception on April 29, 2022; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 15 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 16 | we congratulate Larry Milby on his retirement from Illinois | ||||||
| 17 | State University and wish him the best in his future | ||||||
| 18 | endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 20 | presented to Larry Milby as an expression of our esteem and | ||||||
