| 2 | | WHEREAS, Chicago is the ideal city for hosting the 2024 |
| 3 | | Democratic National Convention (DNC); and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Chicago has an abundance of hotel rooms and |
| 5 | | restaurants and a plethora of arts and culture for guests, and |
| 6 | | it has a track record of successfully hosting such large-scale |
| 7 | | events; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, In addition to Chicago's established ability to |
| 9 | | host large gatherings, the city and State have strong |
| 10 | | Democratic credentials and are located near several Midwestern |
| 11 | | presidential battleground states, such as Wisconsin, Michigan, |
| 12 | | and Iowa; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Illinois is at the center of some of the key |
| 14 | | policies for the party, including infrastructure, broadband |
| 15 | | access, and codifying Roe v. Wade, and our city and state, |
| 16 | | consisting of a vibrant and diverse metropolis, thriving |
| 17 | | suburbs, and strong rural communities, offer proof that the |
| 18 | | Democratic party's policies deliver for American families; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Hosting the DNC in 2024 would be a great |
| 20 | | opportunity to promote the city and state on an international |
| 21 | | stage and would be the first political convention held in |
