| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives recognize that the month of March is Women's | ||||||
| 4 | History Month and wish to highlight the accomplishments of | ||||||
| 5 | women in our state; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Rose Leedle has been selected to serve as | ||||||
| 7 | president of the Illinois State Beekeepers Association for | ||||||
| 8 | 2022, making her the first female to be elected in this | ||||||
| 9 | leadership role; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, The Illinois State Beekeepers Association was | ||||||
| 11 | organized in 1891; over the past 131 years, the association | ||||||
| 12 | has developed a strong working relationship with local | ||||||
| 13 | beekeeping associations throughout the State and the Illinois | ||||||
| 14 | Department of Agriculture and has made positive contributions | ||||||
| 15 | to the agricultural sector throughout the State of Illinois; | ||||||
| 16 | and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Rose Leedle is the owner and operator of | ||||||
| 18 | Leedle-Houme Bees, located at 2713 State Highway 14 in | ||||||
| 19 | Mulkeytown in the 117th district in Southern Illinois, a | ||||||
| 20 | region which is home to some of the richest agricultural | ||||||
| 21 | products in the country; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, Rose Leedle operates Leedle-Houme Bees as a | ||||||
| 2 | family-owned business alongside her husband, Doug Leedle, and | ||||||
| 3 | their three sons, Josh, Andy, and Matt; with her family, she | ||||||
| 4 | conducts beekeeping classes in the area and in their bee yard | ||||||
| 5 | and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Rose Leedle loves teaching others about the | ||||||
| 7 | necessity of bees and the art of beekeeping; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 9 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 10 | we congratulate Rose Leedle on the occasion of her election as | ||||||
| 11 | the first female president of the Illinois State Beekeepers | ||||||
| 12 | Association; and be it further
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, That we commend the Illinois State Beekeepers | ||||||
| 14 | Association and all beekeeping operations in the State of | ||||||
| 15 | Illinois for their significant contributions to the betterment | ||||||
| 16 | of agriculture in our state; and be it further
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 18 | presented to Rose Leedle as an expression of our esteem and | ||||||
| 19 | respect.
