| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, David Sidney has passionately served the Rockford | ||||||
| 3 | community for the last 14 years, including the past 3 years as | ||||||
| 4 | the executive director of Transform Rockford; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, David Sidney has been instrumental in | ||||||
| 6 | strategizing, planning, and implementing projects to drive | ||||||
| 7 | community improvement and make transformative change to | ||||||
| 8 | benefit Rockfordians; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, David Sidney has overseen successful initiatives, | ||||||
| 10 | including Ready to Learn, a collaboration of community | ||||||
| 11 | resources to enhance kindergarten readiness, Great | ||||||
| 12 | Neighborhoods, a program helping residents identify strengths | ||||||
| 13 | in their area and work together to improve their surroundings, | ||||||
| 14 | and launching the Community Scorecard, a tool designed to | ||||||
| 15 | measure Rockford's success in becoming a "Top 25" community by | ||||||
| 16 | 2025; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, David Sidney has helped guide the community to | ||||||
| 18 | better outcomes; in 2021, he was able to report that Rockford | ||||||
| 19 | has made gains in college degree attainment, mental health | ||||||
| 20 | services, the reduction of property crime, and the reduction | ||||||
| 21 | of poverty; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, David Sidney has led Transform Rockford's | ||||||
| 2 | collaboration both on local initiatives, including the Family | ||||||
| 3 | Peace Center to combat human trafficking and support domestic | ||||||
| 4 | violence survivors, and with national partners, including | ||||||
| 5 | Bridges Out of Poverty to enhance knowledge of the effects of | ||||||
| 6 | poverty; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, David Sidney has served his community by donating | ||||||
| 8 | his time as an Alignment Rockford Operating Board Member, a | ||||||
| 9 | Klehm Arboretum & Botanical Gardens Planning Committee Member, | ||||||
| 10 | a Rockford Mass Transit District Board of Trustees Member, and | ||||||
| 11 | in many other ways; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, On May 31, 2021, David Sidney will end his tenure | ||||||
| 13 | as executive director of Transform Rockford; he is leaving | ||||||
| 14 | behind an impressive legacy of improvement for the Rockford | ||||||
| 15 | community; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 17 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 18 | we commend David Sidney for his service and dedication to the | ||||||
| 19 | Rockford community and wish him happiness and great success in | ||||||
| 20 | his future efforts; and be it further
| ||||||
| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 22 | presented to David Sidney as a symbol of our esteem and | ||||||
