| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 272 on page 1, by |
| 3 | | replacing line 9 with the following: |
| 4 | | "check, negotiable instrument, credit card, debit card, or |
| 5 | | other form of payment or transfer payable to or to the order of |
| 6 | | the consumer that, upon cashing or other negotiation by the |
| 7 | | consumer, obligates"; and

| 8 | | on page 1, by replacing line 11 with the following:

| 9 | | "fees. A consumer is not liable for any debt or other |
| 10 | | obligation arising out of the negotiation of a form of payment |
| 11 | | delivered to the consumer in violation of this Section.".
