Provides that a sheriff's salary in a non-home rule county shall not be less than 80% of the State's Attorney salary for the county in which the sheriff is elected or appointed. Defines "salary". Provides that the State shall furnish 66 2/3% and the county 33 1/3% of the total annual salary to be paid to a sheriff. Prevents a county from decreasing the salary of a sheriff who earns more than 80% of the State's Attorney's salary on the effective date of the amendatory Act.
