<synopsistitle></synopsistitle>
<reference>415 ILCS 55/5-5 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>Amends the Illinois Groundwater Protection Act. Creates the Mahomet Aquifer Council. Provides that 9 public members shall be appointed to the Council by the Governor, including 3 persons representing a nonprofit consortium dedicated to the sustainability of the Mahomet Aquifer, 5 persons representing local government bodies located over the Mahomet Aquifer, and one person from the University of Illinois Prairie Research Institute. Provides that the chairperson's term shall be for one year, and a Council member's term shall be for 3 years. Allows reimbursement to members for ordinary and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties, except that such reimbursement shall be limited to expenses associated with no more than 4 meetings per calendar year. Requires the Agency to provide the Council with such supporting services as are reasonable for the performance of the Council's duties. <SynopsisText>Replaces everything after the enacting clause with the provisions of the introduced bill with the following change. Provides that the Mahomet Aquifer Council shall be composed of specified members appointed by specified State officials (rather than shall be composed of 9 public members appointed by the Governor, including: 3 persons representing a nonprofit consortium dedicated to the sustainability of the Mahomet Aquifer; 5 persons representing local government bodies located over the Mahomet Aquifer; and one person from the University of Illinois Prairie Research Institute). Effective immediately.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>Senate Floor Amendment No. 2</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Replaces everything after the enacting clause with the provisions of the bill as amended with the following change. Changes the qualifications of a member of the Mahomet Aquifer Council to provide that the member shall be a member representing a State labor organization that represents employees in the solid waste, recycling, and related industries, appointed by the Governor. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
