SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Lillian Kay Sargeant, who passed away on 
4August 30, 2020 at the age of 82; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Lillian Kay Sargeant was born in Neillsville, 
6Wisconsin and spent most of her life in the Chicago area; she 
7was a beloved teacher and loving mother; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Lillian Kay Sargeant was beloved by children; she 
9graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1961 with a 
10degree in education; she spent her entire career teaching 
11kindergarten, which was her passion and gift, at Western Avenue 
12School in Geneva; she was also a dog lover and baked a 
13delicious red velvet cake; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Lillian Kay Sargeant was married for 59 years to 
15the late Roger Sargeant and was the sister of the late John 
16Barton; and

  
 
17    WHEREAS, Lillian Kay Sargeant was the beloved mother of 
18Susan Buczkowski and Thomas Sargeant and the devoted 
19grandmother of Franklin and Leo; therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
2Lillian Kay Sargeant and extend our sincere condolences to her 
3family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it

5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Lillian Kay Sargeant as an 
7expression of our deepest sympathy.
