SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James D. "Jim" Kuhn of Rantoul, who passed away on September 30, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Jim Kuhn was born in Watseka to Orville and Helen (Lemming) Kuhn on March 3, 1955; he graduated from Cissna Park High School; he earned his associate degree at Parkland College in Champaign; he married Linda Boley in Watseka on April 20, 1989; and

WHEREAS, Jim Kuhn worked for the City of Urbana for 17 years; and

WHEREAS, Jim Kuhn was an avid gardener, and his garden was admired by his family and neighbors; he loved the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs; he enjoyed singing karaoke, being a disc jockey, and reading; he loved attending family cookouts and spending time with his loved ones; he will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; and

WHEREAS, Jim Kuhn was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Yvonne Thrasher; and

WHEREAS, Jim Kuhn is survived by his wife, Linda (Boley) Kuhn; his children, Jamie Huisinga (Kyle), Amanda Esposito (Thomas Navolt), Layla Johnson (Rodney), and James Esposito (Denise Campbell); his sisters, Betty Seidel, Donna Brown (John), and Debbie Mueller (Wayne); his brother, Ron Kuhn; his grandchildren, Devon, Alexandra, Jaricka, Catherine, Breanna, Nathaniel, Olivia, and Addison; and his great-grandchildren, Aria and Memphis, with one on the way; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James D. "Jim" Kuhn and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jim Kuhn as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
