| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Ronald "Ron" John Kalinoski of North | ||||||
| 4 | Chicago, who passed away on July 27, 2020; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Ron Kalinoski was born to Adam J. Kalinoski Keller | ||||||
| 6 | and Norma M. (Davidson) Bogstad in North Chicago in 1941; in | ||||||
| 7 | 1964, he joined the U. S. Army and was sent to Vietnam; while | ||||||
| 8 | serving, he sustained lifelong injuries in a land mine | ||||||
| 9 | explosion; he was honorably discharged and was awarded the | ||||||
| 10 | Purple Heart; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, When Ron Kalinoski returned to the U.S., he became | ||||||
| 12 | a paid volunteer firefighter with the North Chicago Fire | ||||||
| 13 | Department; he then made his living working at the North | ||||||
| 14 | Chicago Water Plant before moving to the Great Lakes Water | ||||||
| 15 | Plant where he retired after forty plus years of service; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Ron Kalinoski was a man of faith, who enjoyed | ||||||
| 17 | being outdoors, fishing, boating, and spending his free time | ||||||
| 18 | with his family at his camper on Petite Lake in Antioch; his | ||||||
| 19 | love of flying inspired him to earn his private pilot's license | ||||||
| 20 | through the Waukegan National Airport; he had a soft spot for | ||||||
| 21 | his dogs, enjoyed golfing in his earlier years, was known for | ||||||
| 22 | telling silly jokes, and was a social member of the North | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | Chicago community; he was also an avid life-long Chicago Cubs | ||||||
| 2 | and Bears fan; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Ron Kalinoski was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
| 4 | Jeanne (Boyland) Kalinoski; his brother, Gene Kalinoski; his | ||||||
| 5 | stepmother, Mollie (Geer) Kalinoski Keller; and his parents, | ||||||
| 6 | Adam Kalinoski Keller and Norma Bogstad; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Ron Kalinoski is survived by his three daughters, | ||||||
| 8 | Dawn (Timothy) Rominger, Samantha (Michael) Nestroy, and | ||||||
| 9 | Christina Kalinoski; his brother, Donald (Georgianne) | ||||||
| 10 | Kalinoski; his sisters, Shirley (the Late Neil) Bamford and | ||||||
| 11 | Eileen (the late Charles) Stroup; his sister-in-law, Donna | ||||||
| 12 | Kalinoski; his three grandchildren, Abigail Nestroy and Alex | ||||||
| 13 | and Meghan Rominger; and his several nieces, nephews, | ||||||
| 14 | great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
| 16 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
| ||||||
| 17 | Ronald "Ron" John Kalinoski and extend our sincere
condolences | ||||||
| 18 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be | ||||||
| 19 | it further
| ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| ||||||
| 21 | presented to the family of Ron Kalinoski as an expression of
| ||||||
| 22 | our deepest sympathy.
