SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Edmond Richard Hamilton; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Edmond Hamilton was born in Mt. Jackson, Virginia 
5to Braxton and Helen Hamilton on May 3, 1935; he served in the 
6U.S. Marines and married Neva Barnes on September 5, 1965; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Edmond Hamilton settled in the Midwest in the 
8early 1960s and became a union plumber; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Edmond Hamilton was a member of Plumbers & 
10Pipefitters Local 25 in Rock Island for over 50 years; he was  
11very proud of his children, and they spent a great deal of time 
12over the years on Campbell's Island, skiing, boating, and 
13fishing; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Edmond Hamilton was preceded in death by his 
15parents; his brothers, Jack and Tom Hamilton; and his sister, 
16JoAnn Hamilton; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Edmond Hamilton is survived by his wife of nearly 
1855 years, Neva; his children, Valli Griffin, Verda Lyons, 
19Carlene VanDyke, Cherie Rogers (Bill), and Braxton (Carla) 
20Hamilton; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three

1great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Edmond Richard Hamilton and extend our sincere condolences to 
5his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to  the family of  Edmond Hamilton as an expression of 
9our deepest sympathy.
