SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Ora Lee "Mama Reece" Reece of Chicago, 
4who passed away on December 24, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Ora Reece was born in Sherill, Arkansas to William 
6and Armanda Richardson on August 9, 1940; she was the third of 
711 children; she moved to Chicago as a young woman; she married 
8Albert C. Reece Sr. on February 17, 1962; she had a deep faith 
9and was a member of the Joy Fellowship Baptist Church in 
10Chicago; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Ora Reece became a licensed cosmetologist/barber 
12at 19 and developed her skills over 30 years; she also worked 
13for the Chicago Public School system and retired after 20 years 
14of service; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Ora Reece was preceded in death by her parents and 
16her husband, Albert C. Reece Sr.; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Ora Reece is survived by her children, 
18grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of family and 
19friends; therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
2Ora Lee "Mama Reece" Reece and extend our sincere condolences 
3to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be 
4it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Ora Reece as an expression of our 
7deepest sympathy.
