| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Randy Lee Gori of Edwardsville, who |
| 4 | | passed away on January 4, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Randy Gori was born in Richmond Heights, Missouri |
| 6 | | to Lee and Judith Ann (Perkins) Gori on October 26, 1972; he |
| 7 | | graduated from St. Louis University in 1995 and St. Louis |
| 8 | | University School of Law in 1998; he married Beth Suchanek at |
| 9 | | St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in St. Louis on June 9, |
| 10 | | 2001; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Randy Gori was the owner of The Gori Law Firm, |
| 12 | | Gori Property Management, MedServe Record Retrieval, Madison |
| 13 | | County Title Company, and Gori, Realtors; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, During his career, Randy Gori received many |
| 15 | | honors, including being named one of the Top 100 Litigation |
| 16 | | Lawyers in Illinois by the American Society of Legal Advocates, |
| 17 | | becoming a Life member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates |
| 18 | | Forum, and being named one of the top 100 trial Lawyers by |
| 19 | | National Trial Lawyer; he was also a frequent speaker at |
| 20 | | national conferences on asbestos litigation; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Randy Gori was actively involved in several |
|

| 1 | | associations, including the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association |
| 2 | | (serving on the board of managers since 2001), the Madison |
| 3 | | County Bar Association, the St. Clair County Bar Association, |
| 4 | | the Bar Association of St. Louis, the American Bar Association, |
| 5 | | the American Association for Justice, the Missouri Association |
| 6 | | of Trial Attorneys, and the National Asbestos Mesothelioma |
| 7 | | Trial Lawyers, where he served as president; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Locally, Randy Gori served as a board member and |
| 9 | | treasurer of the Edwardsville Township Democratic Club and as |
| 10 | | an Edwardsville Democratic Precinct Committeeman; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Randy Gori was a true philanthropist at heart, |
| 12 | | lending his time and resources to more than 300 organizations |
| 13 | | throughout the region; he was a major contributor to Land of |
| 14 | | Lincoln Legal Services; he was also dedicated to helping raise |
| 15 | | funds for organizations such as the Mesothelioma Applied |
| 16 | | Research Foundation, Land of Lincoln Legal Services, the |
| 17 | | American Cancer Society, and many more; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Randy Gori is survived by his wife, Beth |
| 19 | | (Suchanek) Gori; his two children; and his sister and her |
| 20 | | family; therefore, be it
|
| 21 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL |
| 22 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
