SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Randy Lee Gori of Edwardsville, who passed away on January 4, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Randy Gori was born in Richmond Heights, Missouri to Lee and Judith Ann (Perkins) Gori on October 26, 1972; he graduated from St. Louis University in 1995 and St. Louis University School of Law in 1998; he married Beth Suchanek at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in St. Louis on June 9, 2001; and

WHEREAS, Randy Gori was the owner of The Gori Law Firm, Gori Property Management, MedServe Record Retrieval, Madison County Title Company, and Gori, Realtors; and

WHEREAS, During his career, Randy Gori received many honors, including being named one of the Top 100 Litigation Lawyers in Illinois by the American Society of Legal Advocates, becoming a Life member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and being named one of the top 100 trial Lawyers by National Trial Lawyer; he was also a frequent speaker at national conferences on asbestos litigation; and

WHEREAS, Randy Gori was actively involved in several associations, including the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (serving on the board of managers since 2001), the Madison County Bar Association, the St. Clair County Bar Association, the Bar Association of St. Louis, the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, and the National Asbestos Mesothelioma Trial Lawyers, where he served as president; and

WHEREAS, Locally, Randy Gori served as a board member and treasurer of the Edwardsville Township Democratic Club and as an Edwardsville Democratic Precinct Committeeman; and

WHEREAS, Randy Gori was a true philanthropist at heart, lending his time and resources to more than 300 organizations throughout the region; he was a major contributor to Land of Lincoln Legal Services; he was also dedicated to helping raise funds for organizations such as the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, Land of Lincoln Legal Services, the American Cancer Society, and many more; and

WHEREAS, Randy Gori is survived by his wife, Beth (Suchanek) Gori; his two children; and his sister and her family; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Randy Lee Gori and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Randy Gori as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
