SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Roger A. Beard of Colona, who passed away 
4on June 24, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Roger Beard was born in Aledo to Chalmers Wharton 
6and Agnes Irene (Peterson) Beard on November 12, 1939; he  
7served in the U.S. Army and married Diana Lynn Neal at Sacred 
8Heart Catholic Church in Moline on June 10, 1967; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Roger Beard retired from the shipping and parts 
10department at John Deere Harvester after 37 years; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Roger Beard was an avid fan of the Green Bay 
12Packers, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Chicago Bulls; he 
13enjoyed golfing and collecting sports trading cards; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Roger Beard was preceded in death by his parents 
15and his wife, Diana; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Roger Beard is survived by his children, Jackie 
17(Doug) Barber, Alan (Jennifer) Beard, and Amy (Ken) Bancroft; 
18his grandchildren, Amber Nolin, Crystal Davis, Nicole Davis, 
19Paige Barber, Gavin Barber, and Matthew (Elizabeth) Beard; his 
20great-grandchildren, Brendan and Jalynn; his siblings, Pat

1(Gary) Frenell, Diane Neihaus, Margo (Greg) Rankin, and Brian 
2(Laurie) Beard; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Roger A. Beard and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Roger Beard as an expression of our 
10deepest sympathy.
