| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Richard Elbert Ford, who passed away on |
| 4 | | May 18, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Ford was born in Creal Springs to William |
| 6 | | E. and Sylvia L. Ford on April 26, 1934; after attending |
| 7 | | Southern Illinois University, he moved to Elgin, where he |
| 8 | | continued his education; his first marriage resulted in the |
| 9 | | birth of his four children; in 1969, he married Jennifer |
| 10 | | Fraley; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Richard Ford began his career at the Elgin Mental |
| 12 | | Health Center, where he worked as an administrator for many |
| 13 | | years until his retirement; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Richard Ford enjoyed traveling, mostly road |
| 15 | | trips; his many adventures with family members resulted in |
| 16 | | everlasting memories; his last long road trip was a 5,400 mile |
| 17 | | trek that included Las Vegas, Southern California, Jackson |
| 18 | | Hole, Wyoming, and Yellowstone National Park; he enjoyed his |
| 19 | | many trips to Las Vegas and participating in events at the |
| 20 | | World Series of Poker; he was proud of his family and was a |
| 21 | | devoted husband, father, and grandfather; he will be remembered |
| 22 | | for his sense of humor; and
