| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Annette F. "Nettie" Galla of |
| 4 | | Libertyville, who passed away on April 29, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Nettie Galla was born in Chicago to Joseph and |
| 6 | | Josephine Panek on April 20, 1936; she married Richard Galla |
| 7 | | and moved to Lindenhurst; they later moved to Grayslake, where |
| 8 | | they raised their family; after their children were grown, they |
| 9 | | moved to Libertyville; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Nettie Galla had a strong faith; she attended Mass |
| 11 | | daily at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Libertyville; in |
| 12 | | addition, she also attended Saturday Mass at St. Gilbert |
| 13 | | Catholic Church in Grayslake; she was committed to helping |
| 14 | | those less fortunate and in need; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, In her earlier years, Nettie Galla enjoyed oil |
| 16 | | painting and drawing; in her later years, she enrolled in art |
| 17 | | classes at the College of Lake County; she looked forward to |
| 18 | | her classes and attended student art class trips to Door |
| 19 | | County, Wisconsin; through her teacher's encouragement, |
| 20 | | guidance, and support, she was able to accomplish her goal of |
| 21 | | creating works in watercolor; she was a devoted wife, mother, |
| 22 | | grandmother and great-grandmother; she enjoyed cooking for her |
