| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Ann E. Stapleton, who passed away on |
| 4 | | December 31, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton was born in Waukegan to Joseph and |
| 6 | | Margaret Selzer on January 23, 1936; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton worked for Ammco Tools in North |
| 8 | | Chicago for 32 years as an inspector and recording secretary; |
| 9 | | after retirement, she owned The Cottage Lounge in Waukegan; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton was a lifetime member of American |
| 11 | | Legion Post 281 in Waukegan and VFW Post 7448 Ladies Auxiliary |
| 12 | | in Winthrop Harbor; she enjoyed doing volunteer work with the |
| 13 | | Salvation Army and was known by many as "The Candy Grandma"; |
| 14 | | and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton was preceded in death by her |
| 16 | | husband, Fred Stapleton; her parents; her siblings, Joseph Jr., |
| 17 | | Pete, Richard, Gertrude, and Agnes; and her daughter, Jinx Ann |
| 18 | | Moore; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton is survived by her daughters, |
| 20 | | Frances and Christy Fiesel; her grandchildren, Charles (Angie) |
