SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Curtis Roberts of Rock Island, who passed 
4away on February 23, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Curtis Roberts was born in Homer, Louisiana to Roy 
6and Mary Ola Howard Roberts Sr. on November 24, 1934; he served 
7in the United States Army; he married Earnestine Smith in Rock 
8Island on June 12, 1976; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Curtis Roberts was a Teamster with Local 371, Rock 
10Island, for many years; he retired from McCarthy Improvement; 
11and
  
 
  
12    WHEREAS, Curtis Roberts was preceded in death by his 
13parents; his wife, Earnestine; two of his grandsons; and his 
14brothers, Roy Jr., Willie Sr. and Colunious; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Curtis Roberts is survived by his children, Sheila 
16Roberts, Gwen (Willie) Randle, Diana (Dr. David) Gadsden, 
17Pamela Hearn, Evelyn Roberts, and Rosalind Miles; his many 
18grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brothers, Leonard 
19(Mattie) Roberts, and Joe Lee (Zelma) Roberts; his 
20sisters-in-law, Rose Jones, Eria Jean Roberts, and Betty 
21Roberts; and his many cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and

1friends; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Curtis Roberts and extend our sincere condolences to his 
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Curtis Roberts as an expression of 
9our deepest sympathy.
