AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2518 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2518 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended  by adding 
5Section 3-698.5 as follows:
 
6    (625 ILCS 5/3-698.5 new)
7    Sec. 3-698.5. Air Force Combat Action Medal license plates.
8    (a) In addition to any other special license plate, the 
9Secretary, upon receipt of all applicable fees and applications 
10made in the form prescribed by the Secretary, may issue Air 
11Force Combat Action Medal license plates to residents of this 
12State who meet eligibility requirements prescribed by the 
13Secretary. The special Air Force Combat Action Medal plate 
14issued under this Section shall be affixed only to passenger 
15vehicles of the first division, motorcycles, and motor vehicles 
16of the second division weighing not more than 8,000 pounds.

1Plates issued under this Section shall expire according to the 
2staggered multi-year procedure established by Section 3-414.1.
3    (b) The plates shall display the Air Force Combat Action 
4Medal. In all other respects, the design, color, and format of 
5the plates shall be within the discretion of the Secretary. The 
6Secretary may allow the plates to be issued as vanity plates or 
7personalized in accordance with Section 3-405.1 of this Code. 
8The plates are not required to designate "Land of Lincoln", as 
9prescribed in subsection (b) of Section 3-412 of this Code. The 
10Secretary shall prescribe the eligibility requirements and, in 
11the discretion of the Secretary, shall approve and prescribe 
12stickers or decals as provided under Section 3-412.".
