105 ILCS 5/27-23.13 new

     Amends the School Code. Provides that beginning with the 2020-2021 school year, each school district must include in each course in its curriculum instruction on speech communication.

1    AN ACT concerning education.
  
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
 
3represented in the General Assembly:
  
 
 
4    Section 5. The School Code is amended  by adding Section 
527-23.13 as follows:
 
6    (105 ILCS 5/27-23.13 new)
7    Sec. 27-23.13. Speech communication. Beginning with the 
82020-2021 school year, each school district must include in 
9each course in its curriculum instruction on speech 
10communication.
