1    AN ACT concerning State government.
  
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
 
3represented in the General Assembly:
  
 
 
4    Section 5. Property. Southern Illinois University at 
5Carbondale owns the following real property situated in the 
6County of Williamson:
 
7    A part of the Southwest Quarter, Section 13, Township 9 
8    South, Range 1 East, of the Third Principal Meridian, 
9    Williamson County, Illinois, more particularly described 
10    as follows:
 
11    Commencing at the Northwest corner of the Southwest Quarter 
12    of said Section 13; thence North 88 degrees 47 minutes 10 
13    seconds East along the said northerly Quarter Section line 
14    a distance of 1530.48 feet; thence South 00 degrees 44 
15    minutes 00 seconds West a distance of 85.54 feet to the 
16    Point of Beginning (POB) for this description: thence South 
17    00 degrees 44 minutes West a distance of 614.13 feet; 
18    thence South 86 degrees 12 minutes 00 seconds West a 
19    distance of 158.14 feet; thence South 3 degrees 58 minutes 
20    00 seconds East a distance of 66.00 feet; thence North 85 
21    degrees 22 minutes 00 seconds East a distance of 152.92

20    South 03 degrees 52 minutes 36 seconds West a distance of 
21    10.00 feet to a point; thence easterly along a 
22    non-tangential curve left, having a radius of 1592.95 feet, 
23    an arc distance of 219.58 feet, the chord of said curve 
24    bears North 89 degrees 55 minutes 40 seconds East a 
25    distance of 219.41 feet; thence North 04 degrees 01 minutes 
26    17 seconds West a distance of 20.00 feet to a point; thence

1    North 85 degrees 58 minutes 43 seconds East a distance of 
2    924.10 feet to the Point of Beginning of this description 
3    containing 92.45 acres more or less.
 
4    Section 10. Conveyance. 
5    (a) Upon the payment of the sum of $1 to Southern Illinois 
6University at Carbondale, and subject to the conditions set 
7forth in subsection (b), the Board of Trustees of Southern 
8Illinois University, on behalf of the State of Illinois and 
9Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, shall convey by 
10quitclaim deed all right, title, and interest of the State of 
11Illinois and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in and 
12to the real property described in Section 5 to the City of 
13Carterville.
14    (b) The quitclaim deed to the City of Carterville shall 
15state on its face and be subject to the conditions that the 
16real property shall be used by the City of Carterville for a 
17public purpose and that if the City of Carterville ceases to 
18exist or if the real property is used for any purposes other 
19than a public purpose, then title shall revert without further 
20action to the State of Illinois.
 
21    Section 15. Recording. Southern Illinois University at 
22Carbondale shall prepare one or more quitclaim deeds to convey 
23the real property. The Board of Trustees may also record a 
24certified copy of this Act. Each quitclaim deed shall reference

1this Act and contain the reversionary language from subsection 
2(b) of Section 10. All documents of conveyance shall be 
3recorded in the county in which the land is located.
 
 
4    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
5becoming law.
