HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Evan C. 
4Melau, who passed away on June 19, 2020; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Evan Melau lived every day and approached every 
6challenge with 125% effort; his strong will and determination 
7to succeed led to many admirable accomplishments in his young 
8life; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Evan Melau recognized the importance of a good 
10education at a young age; his parents taught him to always do 
11his best, and his dedication to his schoolwork and studies 
12resulted in him being named as an honor roll student; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Evan Melau will always be remembered for his 
14smiling face, his laugh, and the  kindness he showed to 
15everyone; he excelled in his athletic endeavors with 
16basketball, football, and especially baseball, where his "no 
17fear" attitude at second base was admired by his coaches and 
18teammates; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Evan Melau was preceded in death by his 
20grandmother, Debra Paul; and

1    WHEREAS, Evan Melau is survived by his parents, Chuck and 
2Jamie Melau Jr.; his brother, Jacob Melau; his sister, Zoe 
3Melau; his grandparents, Michael Paul and  Chuck and Kathleen 
4Melau Sr.; and his uncles, Jon Paul and Jeremy (Jackie) Paul; 
5therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
7HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
8we mourn the passing of Evan C. Melau and extend our sincere 
9condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
10him; and be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to  the family of  Evan Melau as an expression of our 
13deepest sympathy.
