HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Larry R. Rogers Jr. on his 
4installation as the 67th President of the Illinois Trial 
5Lawyers Association (ITLA) on June 5, 2020; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Larry Rogers is a trial lawyer with over 25 years 
7of experience; he focuses his practice on litigating cases for 
8victims who have sustained catastrophic injuries or death as a 
9result of negligence and corporate wrongdoing; he has 
10represented clients in medical malpractice, trucking, product 
11liability, and civil rights cases; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Larry Rogers has been a member of the Illinois 
13Trial Lawyers Association since 1993; he has been a member of 
14the Board of Managers and has served on ITLA's Executive 
15Committee; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Larry Rogers has served as president of the Cook 
17County Bar Association (CCBA), the oldest association of 
18African American attorneys in the country, and remains active 
19as a board member; he is also actively involved with the 
20American Association for Justice and the Illinois State Bar 
21Association; he was invited to become a member of the Inner 
22Circle of Advocates, an invitation-only group of 100 trial

1lawyers from across the country; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Larry Rogers has been featured in a number of 
3media forums, including Good Morning America, NBC Chicago, the 
4Chicago Sun-Times, the Chicago Tribune, and Crain's Chicago 
5Business, where he was recognized as one of the top trial 
6lawyers of his generation; he has been recognized as an 
7Illinois Super Lawyer since 2005 and has been listed in Leading 
8Lawyers Magazine top 100 lawyers; and
 
  
9    WHEREAS, Larry Rogers received his bachelor's degree from 
10the University of California, Davis in 1990; he received his 
11law degree in January of 1994 from the Chicago-Kent College of 
12Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology; he was admitted to 
13the Illinois Bar on May 5, 1994 and joined the firm now known 
14as Power Rogers, LLP; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Larry Rogers is married to Ralonda; they have four 
16children,  Dominique, Erin, Sydney, and Jordan; he enjoys 
17spending time with his family, vacationing, boating, and bike 
18riding; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
20HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
21we congratulate Larry R. Rogers Jr. on his installation as the 
2267th President of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and

2    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
3presented to Larry Rogers as a symbol of our respect and
