HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Ivy Hall Elementary 
4School in Buffalo Grove on being designated a 2019 National 
5Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of 
6Education; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program 
8recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high 
9schools where students perform at very high levels or where 
10significant improvements are being made in student academic 
11achievement; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Ivy Hall Elementary School previously received 
13this honor in 2008 and is one of only 312 public schools in the 
14nation receiving this designation in 2019; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Ivy Hall Elementary School has thrived under the 
16leadership of Superintendent Julie Schmidt, Principal Robert 
17Hanrahan, and District 96 School Board Members Mike Burns, 
18Renee Klass, Dina Manka, James Strezewski, Marc Tepper, Meg 
19Woodman, and Cynthia Zarkowsky; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Ivy Hall Elementary School is recognized with this 
21distinct honor because of its highly successful professional

1learning community and its status as an integral part of the 
2District 96 special education programming; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program also 
4recognized Ivy Hall Elementary School's student access to 
5technology, modern facilities, target-aligned individualized 
6learning, highly trained teachers, researched-based practices, 
7social and emotional learning, and the commitment to include 
8all of its students; therefore, be it
  
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
10HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
11we congratulate Ivy Hall Elementary School on being designated 
12a 2019 National Blue Ribbon School, and we wish the faculty, 
13staff, and administration many more years of success and 
14service to the children and families of the community; and be 
15it further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to Ivy Hall Elementary School as an expression of our 
18esteem and respect.
