| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Robert | ||||||
| 4 | "Rob" Amling, who passed away on May 29, 2019 at the age of 68; | ||||||
| 5 | and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Rob Amling was born in Pana on June 6, 1950; a | ||||||
| 7 | lifelong resident of the Pana area, he graduated from Pana High | ||||||
| 8 | School in 1968; he received his Bachelor of Science in | ||||||
| 9 | Horticulture from the University of Illinois in 1972; he | ||||||
| 10 | married Debbie DeRochi in Taylorville, and they expanded their | ||||||
| 11 | family with a daughter, Stacie; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, A true entrepreneur, Rob Amling owned and operated | ||||||
| 13 | Cold Springs Greenhouse in rural Tower Hill since 1973 and | ||||||
| 14 | Junction Garden Center in Pana since 1986; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Rob Amling was an active member of the community | ||||||
| 16 | and most recently served on the Shelby County Board and the | ||||||
| 17 | Shelby County Housing Authority Board; he was Chairman of the | ||||||
| 18 | Heartland Resource Conservation and Development Council, the | ||||||
| 19 | Shelby County Republican Central Committee, the Shelby County | ||||||
| 20 | Economic Development Board, and the Kaskaskia Watershed | ||||||
| 21 | Association; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, Previously, Rob Amling served on the Tower Hill | ||||||
| 2 | Fire Protection District Board of Trustees, the Pana Community | ||||||
| 3 | Hospital Board of Directors, the Pana Community Hospital | ||||||
| 4 | Foundation Board of Directors, the Christian County Economic | ||||||
| 5 | Development Board, and the University of Illinois Dudley Smith | ||||||
| 6 | Farm Advisory Board; he was the Cold Spring Township Supervisor | ||||||
| 7 | and President of the Pana Area Chamber of Commerce; he was | ||||||
| 8 | involved in the formation of Tri County Quail Unlimited; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Rob Amling was a family man and a well-respected | ||||||
| 10 | public servant who will be deeply missed by his community, his | ||||||
| 11 | wife, his daughter, his extended family, and his friends; | ||||||
| 12 | therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 14 | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 15 | we mourn the passing of Robert "Rob" Amling and extend our | ||||||
| 16 | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
| 17 | and loved him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 19 | presented to the family of Rob Amling as an expression of our | ||||||
| 20 | deepest sympathy.
