HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the East St. Louis High 
4School girls track and field team, the Flyerettes, on winning 
5the 2019 Illinois High School Association Class 2A Girls State 
6Championship; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Flyerettes scored 72 points to win the 
8championship on May 18, 2019 at O'Brien Field on the campus of 
9Eastern Illinois University in Charleston; and
  
 

  
10    WHEREAS, This was the Flyerettes third championship and the 
11first since 2011; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The inspiration for the Flyerettes' performance 
13was emblazoned on the back of their shirts this season, "Always 
14run through the finish line."; therefore, be it
  
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
16HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
17we congratulate the East St. Louis High School girls track and 
18field team, the Flyerettes, on winning the 2019 Illinois High 
19School Association Class 2A Girls State Championship, and we 
20wish them many more successful years; and be it further
