| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Corinne
C. Heggie on her |
| 4 | | installation as President of the Women's Bar Association of |
| 5 | | Illinois (WBAI); and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, The WBAI was first established in 1914 by nine |
| 7 | | women lawyers practicing in the
Chicago Metropolitan area; it |
| 8 | | is one of the oldest and largest bar associations in the State |
| 9 | | of
Illinois; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, The WBAI serves as an influential voice in |
| 11 | | promoting the interests and welfare of
women in the law, |
| 12 | | offering mentorship and networking opportunities, career |
| 13 | | advice, and events
that promote and empower women leaders; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, For more than a decade, Corinne Heggie has |
| 15 | | actively promoted the mission of the
WBAI, both in the legal |
| 16 | | community and the community at-large; she has taken on an
|
| 17 | | instrumental role in organizing events and increasing WBAI's |
| 18 | | diverse membership; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Corinne Heggie's professional accomplishments in |
| 20 | | the field of consumer financial law
position her to provide |
| 21 | | exemplary leadership to the next generation of women lawyers; |
|

| 1 | | she was
recently selected as an Illinois Super Lawyer and was |
| 2 | | previously designated an Illinois Rising Star; at the national |
| 3 | | level, Best
Lawyers named her a Woman of Influence in the legal |
| 4 | | profession; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, In addition to her outstanding professional |
| 6 | | contributions, Corinne Heggie is active in
her community, |
| 7 | | serving as a member of the Lyon School/Pleasant Ridge PTA and |
| 8 | | the Women's Club of Our Lady of
Perpetual Help Parish, |
| 9 | | volunteering in scouting and youth sports, and
supporting women |
| 10 | | and families in crisis; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Driven by a dedication to uplifting and |
| 12 | | encouraging women in the law as they forge
their own career |
| 13 | | paths and lives, Corinne Heggie is a true leader in the fight |
| 14 | | for greater equality and
justice; therefore, be it
|
| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 16 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 17 | | we congratulate Corinne C.
Heggie on her installation as |
