HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Maine West High School 
4girls basketball team, the Warriors, on winning the 2018-19 
5Illinois High School Association Class 4A Girls State 
6Championship; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Warriors claimed their first championship in 
831 years with a 58 to 46 victory over Mother McAuley Liberal 
9Arts High School on March 2, 2019 at Redbird Arena in Normal on 
10the campus of Illinois State University; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, The Warriors compiled an undefeated season of 35 
12wins and zero losses on their way to the championship; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, The Warriors are coached by Head Coach Kim de 
14Marigny and assistant coaches Lance Newman, Bryan Aloisio, and 
15Jerry Stonequist; the managers are Stephanie Acuna, Skylar, 
16Kustra, and Madisyn Panier; and
  
 
  
17    WHEREAS, The Warriors are Melissa Gomez, Sarah Magnoni, 
18Brianna Hernandez, Jane Rothweiler, Rachel Kent, Maria Buniao, 
19Ellie Centella, Yessenia Vilchis, Dylan Van Fleet, Vanessa 
20Reyes, Jocelyn Jacob, Lena Albo, Angela Dugalic, Rachel 
21Gorcyca, and Jade Thomas; therefore, be it

2HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
