| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to commend Marvin Perzee on his 52 years |
| 4 | | of service as both a member and president of the Iroquois |
| 5 | | County Fair Board; and |
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Together with his wife, Sharon, the Perzees have |
| 7 | | been instrumental in advocating for issues affecting farmers |
| 8 | | and agriculture and have been successful at lobbying for |
| 9 | | legislation in Springfield, such as exempting farm machinery |
| 10 | | from sales taxes; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, The Perzees have grown up around agriculture and |
| 12 | | county fairs and are both heavily involved with the Ashkum |
| 13 | | Chargers, their local 4-H club; Marvin has been a volunteer |
| 14 | | with the Chargers for five decades; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, At the age of 22, Marvin Perzee became a member on |
| 16 | | the board of the Iroquois County Fair
and has served as |
| 17 | | president since 1972; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Marvin Perzee has an unrivaled knowledge of the |
| 19 | | inner workings of the Iroquois
County Fair; during his tenure, |
| 20 | | the fairgrounds built multiple new buildings and expanded the
|
| 21 | | fair to become one of the premiere county fairs in Illinois; |
